ABSTRACT

INTUITIVE DREAMWORK

Marcia Emery, Ph.D.
Berkeley, CA.

Marcia Emery, Ph.D., psychologist, consultant, college lecturer, and author, first understood intuition's wealth in 1970 through a dream in which her car brakes failed. This actually happened three days later. A dream chapter is in each book she authored: PowerHunch!, The Intuitive Healer, and Dr. Marcia Emery’s Intuition Workbook.

Summary of Presentation

In this experiential workshop, participants will attune their intuitive antenna to decipher the puzzling messages within the dream. They will learn how to intuitively unravel the underlying message of a puzzling dream symbol, use an intuitive interpretation approach for understanding the entire dream, and learn how to recognize precognitive dreams.

Learning Objectives.

Participants will be able to use the metaphor technique to discover how the intuitive voice speaks.

Participants will discover how to use the DreamShift process to understand the entire dream.

Participants will learn how to program a precognitive dream.

Evaluation questions:  (choose one)

The Metaphor Technique can be used to:
    1. Understand the motives and character of others.
    2. Find out how the logical mind works.
    3. Respond to the cyclical ups and downs of life.
    4. All of the above.
To engage a dream symbol artistically in the dreamshift process, you:
    1. Make a drawing.
    2. Move about in a dance.
    3. Write a poem.
    4. All of the above.
You program a precognitive dream to discover your promotion possibilities at work. What is the most appropriate image to answer your concern?
    1. Watching an elephant dance/
    2. Two people sitting on a couch.
    3. You sitting at a new desk..
    4. A TV set in a crowded room

Abstract

Each submission must include an abstract (250-500 words) detailing what is being proposed. The abstract should be submitted in a readable and publishable form so that it can be reproduced in ASD publications. ASD reserves the right to publish these abstracts. In the case of Papers, include a full reference list (not included in the 250-500 words). Tables, figures, and illustrations should be limited to one additional page. In the case of Symposia, Panel Discussions, and Focused Discussion Sessions, give details of each presenter's material. For General Events, describe the presentation in as much detail as possible and include illustrative examples of material that will be used.

INTUITIVE DREAMWORK

The life and theories of renowned psychiatrist Carl Jung were significantly shaped by the messages bubbling up from his dreams. He said, "The dream is an invaluable commentator and illuminator of life. Listen to the wisdom of the dream." The intuitive voice, which may not reach your attention through the noise of the day, calls out each night in the symbolic imagery of a dream.

Anyone can go into the Land of Nod and retrieve abundant information and incredible insights. For example in the health arena, the intuitive mind speaking through a dream can foreshadow health challenges, illuminate the meaning, diagnose and prescribe treatments and even chart an illness’ course and show when recovery is complete. Through a dream, the intuitive mind can also guide a career transition, and describe the dynamics in any relationship, just to name a few additional dream dynamics.

The body/mind is an intuitive antenna constantly transmitting and receiving messages from within and without. Participants will learn to become attuned to the intuitive antenna and decipher the symbolic messages emanating from the intuitive dream mind which is a natural source of wisdom.

Goethe said, "Coming events cast their shadows beforehand." Staying with the health arena, let's take illness as an example. Signs are almost always given. The intuitive mind can alert us to an emergency or impending disaster by sending precognitive warnings in the form of dreams preparing us for appropriate action when the time comes. Participants will discover how to program and interpret precognitive dreams. Let me share an example of how my intuitive mind alerted me to a potential crisis through a dream. I dreamed that a doctor gave me an inaccurate cancer diagnosis, which prepared me for a real life event that occurred months later. Thanks to this dream alert from my inner physician, I knew, my real life doctor was wrong when he insisted I have an operation to remove a "cancerous growth." Heeding my dream physician helped me avoid needless and costly surgery! Ever since that time, I have felt confident that my intuitive dream doctor would send a warning in the event of a serious health situation.

In this experiential dream workshop, participants can bring their career, healing, and/or relationship dreams to attune their intuitive antenna which can then decipher the puzzling messages within the dream. They will learn how to intuitively unravel the underlying message of a puzzling dream symbol, use an intuitive interpretation approach for understanding the entire dream, and program a precognitive dream that will come true.
