Summary

For individuals in therapy the emotional depth of the therapeutic experience can be increased by using dreamwork to uncover the dysfunctional or negative ways of thinking, determine the needed positive ways of thinking and facilitate this change in thinking, thus dreamwork can improve the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Learning Objectives:

A. Participants will learn the basic tenants of cognitive-behavioral therapy.

B. Participants will learn how dreamwork can be used to attain the goals of cognitive-behavioral therapy.

C. Participants will understand the role of increased emotional depth in improving the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy.
