Reaching Berkeley

Planes…

Both the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Oakland International Airport (OAK) serve the Berkeley area. There are numerous airlines operating out of both airports. For a full listing of airline options, please visit each airport's respective website at www.flysfo.com  or www.flyoakland.com

SFO is currently served by offer 30 international and domestic airlines. OAK is currently served by over a dozen international and domestic airlines. Comparatively, flights to Oakland International Airport are usually cheaper than those to San Francisco International. As in all situations, please check with individual airlines or your local travel agent for best options.

Travel time from Oakland International Airport to Berkeley is shorter and normally quicker; and flying to Oakland can often avoid San Francisco's famous fog. If you plan on arriving Friday, 26 June, please note that Friday afternoon traffic can be difficult and slow, so plan to arrive early if possible.

Trains…

Amtrak also serves the Berkeley area with a station located in downtown Oakland at Jack London Square. Current train service to Jack London Square is available on the Capital Corridor, Coast Starlight, and San Joaquins routes.

Taxis are available from the train station. Rental cars are also available through the local Hertz office at 245 2nd Street. For rental information, please visit Hertz at www.Hertz.com .

For further information, please visit the Amtrak web site at www.Amtrak.com .
