EXPLANATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR OBTAINING CE CREDITS AT THE 2005 IASD CONFERENCE (Please note that only conference events marked CE in the program are eligible for CE credits)
FULL CONFERENCE ATTENDEES CAN EARN UP TO 24 CE CREDITS: The International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. IASD maintains responsibility for the program. IASD is also a CE Provider for the California (BBSE)Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (PCE 2043). The IASD also grants Dream Studies CE units under its own auspices. NOTE: Weekend mini-conference (June 25, June 26) attendees will be able to receive up to 15 CE credits including Aging credits option.
OPTIONAL AGING CREDITS: A 3 credit course on Dreams and Aging, fills the board requirement for Aging credits for all California psychotherapists (BOP and BBSE).
HOW TO GET 24 UNITS OF CE CREDIT FROM THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF DREAMS: To receive the 24 CE credits, you must attend the full 4 day conference, pay a CE processing fee, obtain a CE Log at registration, carry it with you at all times, and have each CE event you attend initialed by a room monitor.
WHICH CONFERENCE EVENTS QUALIFY FOR CE? There are over 100 events during the 4 day conference. Only events marked with the letters CE in the program will qualify for CE Credits.
PAYMENT OF $40 CE PROCESSING FEE: CE units will NOT be issued unless the $40 CE registration fee has been paid in advance when registering for the conference or paid at registration at the start of the conference. In addition, CE registrants must; 1) Select CE designated events, 2) Have their attendance checked and initialed by room monitors and 3) Turn in all forms prior to departing the conference. CE cannot be issued after the conference or without properly completed forms.
WHEN AND WHERE DO I GET MY CREDITS: Certificates will be issued for weekend mini-conference participants on Sunday between 4-6 PM in the Registration/Information area. For full conference participants, certificates will be issued on Tuesday between Noon and 4 PM in the same area. You must turn in fully completed forms and evaluations during those times to receive credit. There will be no exceptions.
ABOUT CE CERTIFICATES: Certificates are issued for successful completion of CE hours. The certificate provides a permanent record of training that may be applicable for insurance panels, hospital staff status, or independent study credit at educational institutions. Please keep in mind that each state and each profession’s licensing board may have different requirements. CE credit is not synonymous with any kind of academic credit. However, CE credit may become part of independent study credit if the academic institution agrees to accept the credit. In general, CE hours can provide a permanent record of training received for varied professional purposes such as documentation for licensing or insurance panels. IASD cannot guarantee that any particular regional license board will accept the CE units obtained at this conference. IASD maintains records of CE units earned. A certificate is issued at the end of the conference when all evaluation forms have been completed and CE monitors have checked the CE attendance log. Credits must be checked by monitors during the conference and tallied at the end of the conference if CE credit is to be awarded. IASD will issue the certificate at the conference in person to the attendee and will not mail a certificate unless requested and can only grant the receipt of a certificate if all procedures listed above have been followed. There is an additional $30.00 handling fee imposed by IASD if a replacement certificate is requested. Suggestions or comments about these programs or the IASD CE credit program may be directed to: office@asdreams.org
