Call for Hot off the Press and Poster Presentations
for the 25th Annual Conference of the
International Association for the Study of Dreams

Tuesday July 8 through Saturday July 12, 2008
at the Hôtel Auberge Universel Montréal

DEADLINE for SUBMISSIONS
APRIL 1, 2008

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Hot off the Press (HOTP) and Poster Papers fall into the Research & Theoretical track. The focus is on the presentation of new findings, typically those of a research study a person has done; however, new theoretical ideas may be included if they are meritorious.

Hot-off-the-Press—10 minute (plus 5 min Q&A) theory or research briefs usually structured in a 90 min to 2 hour seminar session.  A standard lecture setup with Digital Projector is provided for these sessions.

Poster Sessions:  Sessions will be structured as a group of presenters, available at the same scheduled time in a room to talk about the contents of their poster paper.  Presenters will bring a poster, or paper that can be posted, in a designated space (approximately 4 x 4 ft) provided by the IASD organizing committee. It will be posted for viewing for a specified time period (one full day depending upon space availability) and the presenter will be requested to be present to answer questions about it only during the formal viewing session (planned to be a 90 minute to 2-hr time slot).  Poster proposals follow the normal submission process and format described below for approval. The abstract should contain the main findings of the presentation. Each accepted presenter is responsible for producing, bringing, putting up and taking down their own poster. The poster can be on a single large sheet or on several smaller ones. Strive for large text so that it can be read fairly easily. Graphics are strongly encouraged. You may provide photo-reduced copies of the entire poster for distribution at your own expense but that is not a requirement.

Notice of Intent to Record: IASD plans to audio record ALL HOTP sessions for sale at the conference and thereafter. Therefore, plan accordingly to eliminate any sensitive information from your presentation because your SUBMISSION of a paper  SIGNIFIES APPROVAL TO RECORD.

ALL HOTP AND POSTER SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ELECTRONICALLY SUBMITTED in the body of an e-mail or an attachment, to submissions@asdreams.org . Submissions will be received by Laurette Dupuis (Program Chair), and Sylvia Green-Guenette (Database Manager) and reviewed by the Research Track committee. If you do not receive a confirmation within 10 days please notify them using this same address. Use Microsoft Word (.doc) format; Mac users should send the proposal in the body of an e-mail or as a rich text format (.rtf) file.
