My first attempt to paint a recurring dream I've had over the years. In the dream I'm in a pitch black place- room. cave, basement perhaps. There is nothing but black yet near the end of the dream I see.... something which amazes me.... really amazes! I see a plant or more often a softly glowing flower ( usually white ) and am filled with happiness, hope, gratitude!!!!! It's a favorite dream and this is a first attempt at trying to paint it. I may do others to bring out different aspect of the dream.....

In the dream there was an egg-shaped house. Its roof was covered in brilliant blue tiles. I knocked on the round door. Inside was a beautifully set table and many old women in traditional Dutch attire, and a man with burning eyes. I could not take my gaze from the man with burning eyes. We stared at one another for a long time. Then, he grabbed my wrist and said, "We will keep in touch, but you must learn to keep silent, because your incessant questions are ruining everything."
