Title of Work:         Ninth Dream
Medium:                 Acrylics on Canvas
Date Created:         2009

The painting is not about a particular dream. For me it represents the spirit of a dream - it may not be dreamed yet, or may be forgotten, or may belong to someone else.

In my work I try to create dream-like spaces which emerge and show through the process of painting. It becomes vital to not interfere but to assist and step aside at the same time while observing, like one would observe and become aware of the dream, the unfolding of the inner landscape.

To me, the painting speaks about the mystery which permeats everything, and is so natural in the dreaming experience - a mystery that is not to be deciphered. And it's like we already hold the key; it's just not a key that leads to explanations, but one that takes us deeper.

Title of Work:         Giraffe and Watcher
Medium:                 Acrylics on Canvas
Date Created:         2008

The painting, too, is not about a particular dream yet to me represents the nature and spirit of dreaming just in a different setting. I always love when animals cross a dreamscape. From that point of view, the image is about the heart - of the earth as well as our own.

Title of Work:         Blue Sun
Medium:                 Acrylics on Canvas
Date Created:         2009

The 'Blue Sun' is not about a particular dream. Yet sometimes it may happen that an image connects with someone else's dream , and blessed are those times.   Originally the painting showed a web of red lines entangled on a golden yellow background. When I started to work it over, the woman appeared and 'insisted' on staying in the image. And so I continued to outline her in the following painting sessions, and completed the work three weeks ago. The underlying lines still shine through the surface. To me, those lines are roads on a map of dreams connecting places of transformation, or 'pockets of experience', along with the energy pattern of the living Earth which is resembled by the woman. They are the tracks of change created in the flow of a dream; and the response of the earth who is dreaming, too. In an odd way, I always thought of the blue spots as 'archipelagos'. Still, the painting kept its title 'Blue Sun'. Sometimes we need to look the other way to see the connections. This was when I was shown Robert Moss' blog ... I found a dream entry about a Goddess giving birth to islands, which (to me) immediately clicked with the painting of the Blue Sun. It is not the same, and yet it is. The mystery reveals in the connection.
