Title of Work:     Pink, Purple, Gems and Infinite Healing
Medium:             Pebbles, cardboard, acrylic stones, paper, fabric.
Date Created:     September 9, 2009

II find myself in a strange and incredibly beautiful place; absolutely everything here is a shade of pink and purple. The light source gently glows from all over the sky, subdued yet sufficient. The ground is soft, very fertile, rich soil which seems oversized; all pink, purple, and some white.

Just ahead to my right, the ground ascends to a small hill, from which emerge 5 pathways adjoined (perpendicular) to a crescent shaped pathway. The pathways are made of pink and purple pebbles, all differing in size. Along the paths are clear gemstones, floating a few centimeters up. Each gemstone is in the shape of a heart or flower; one could walk through them and instantly acquire them as well as a ‘power-up’ – healing, health, etc., as the gems hold healing, life-giving, energizing powers.

I’m bursting with excitement and glee as I anticipate walking through all the gems, knowing that all the healing and life I could imagine are readily available to me. However, I knew that I could not begin until a dragon – also pink and purple - emerges from an invisible portal at the top of the middle pathway. It will emerge for a moment before returning to where it came from, some place I do not know of beyond the portal. Although I know the dragon is harmless, when it appears and breathes its fire I stand back, still unable to let go of apprehension. As it disappears, I proceed to walk along the pathways, gathering the gems and their life giving properties. Once I had acquired them all, I then proceed to the patch of soil underneath the pathways to collect more rows of gems. I am feeling wholly energized, enlivened, and full of vitality.
