A large, dark Indian man walks over to me,
Responding immediately to my urgent call.
He spills water on my sternum.
I don’t feel the water penetrate.
I hope you’ll burn some incense, I say.
as I look at his multi-level shrine.
You’ll need to do something for your soul.

Carl Jung cuts my hair,
But I am called away before he gives me a permanent wave.
In the meantime,
My hair curls quite fully while it dries.
My hair has done its springy curl without the perm.

My father points to the setting sun
Although it feels as if the most dramatic light is already gone,
I want to see it.
We are able to see the last fiery globe of the sun
through a distant window.
We move on to see it again though another window,
another point of view.
