I was reading the thread "Why do we lucid
dream?" on the LD4all forum. The first words of the following poem came
into my mind and I wanted to write a reply in the thread. However, I was
on my phone so that is a bit tricky. But the words kept coming into my
mind, so I grabbed a piece of paper and jotted it down.
After writing it down, I saw it was like a poem. So instead of posting
it as a reply to the post, I posted it in my poetry thread.
Since it has this year’s conference theme weaved into it, I thought you
all may enjoy it :)
LUCID
Could it be
that it is
a memory
of what we used to be
before we fell asleep
in this realm
we call reality?
Could this be it?
the night to day and then
into the dreams of man
recreating in our lives, the
stuff of dreams?
Could it be
that all along
we have looked into this
all wrong
that the true dream is reality
and reality
the figments of our
imagination?
After all - you see
that what we call
reality
is just a dream but
then we have our
eyes awake
what happens if
the mind awakes?
truly awake, not pretending to be
not just "going through the motions of being"
but to be awake in mind and spirit -
is this not what we experience while lucid?
Perhaps it is - after all
just a memory
of how things used to be
until we will return
