Title of Work:     Whale Speaks
Medium:             Acrylic Painting 30" x 40"
Date Created:     2010

There's a whale that's come out of the ocean and trying to speak. It's been pushing against Christianity in order to do so. I'm trying to watch the television documentary about this. — Dream from Brenda Ferrimani's journal 2006.

Title of Work:     I am Salmon
Medium:             Acrylic 36" x 48"
Date Created:     2010

In the dream, I ask Spirit for a name. The name I am given is Salmon, because "I try so hard and through my struggles new creation is born." As I try to tell the people in my dream about my name I find myself swimming in the ocean. There are thousands of fish around me and I'm moving with the currents. I feel a big fish under me with my foot, and in the distance I see a Killer Whale breaching. The dream left me feeling that I'm part of something much bigger than myself and that the movement toward a certain outcome and destination is out of my control. As an artist I certainly feel like a salmon. So many creative ones out there being driven by passion to express themselves! Also, the timing of this work is particularly cosmic as we struggle through the worst Recession since the Great Depression. There are many concerns for our planet as all humans strive to survive and make the world a better place for future generations. — Dream from Brenda Ferrimani's journal 2004.

Title of Work:     Freedom Heart
Medium:             Acrylic 24" x 48"
Date Created:     Feb 2007

This painting was inspired by a hypnotic journey while at the Montreal "Dreams Without Borders" conference. Dierdre Barrett's workshop. On my journey I heard a sound from under the ocean I swam to the bottom and saw a treasure chest. When I opened it I could only see red. Something flew out and began swimming to the surface. I followed it and when it broke water I could see it was a winged heart wearing a crown and a wedding veil. The experience left me feeling estatic for months and so I had to paint it.
